The origin of this village in the municipality of Priego de Cordoba lies in the tenth century, in a farmhouse or Arab village located in these lands.

Less than an hour and a half of Cordoba, Granada and Malaga capital Zagrilla Alta belongs to the town of Priego de Cordoba, and is in the region of the Subbética Cordobesa.
